Reviewer: just me,
I have had this unit about 1 month up and running. Propane is the only gas I can get at my res. Live in Arizona. APS (electric company) is a KILLER. Yes I did have a cold water flux when I first used it. Found trash blocking the little water screen in the shower hose, cleaned it out turned the temp down to 110 deg. what a shower almost did not get out. I have had no problems with this unit yet and hope I do not.

Oh by the way KUDOS to AMAZON.COM. My hat is off to you. I was suppose to receive my AquaStar 2400ES April 5th. I tracked the shipping for about 2 weeks just to be sure I was not going to get it. Called AMAZON.COM shipping center. In that phone call it was confermed that the unit had not arrived to me. I received a unit the 2nd day. No returning phone calls, or hassle, or nothing. WONDERFUL SERVICE THANK YOU.
I will never buy another Bosch appliance

Reviewer: Zippy,
I bought the Bosch 2400ES because of the excellent reputation enjoyed by Bosch.

The good points regarding this water heater -
- Its operation is very economical as it uses very little propane. I have given it a star to recognize its economy.

The bad points regarding this water heater -
- The water heater shuts down and restarts frequently. This leads to invigorating showers as it alternately produces about 90 seconds of hot water, then about 60 seconds of cold water. Based on what the service techs have told me and the troubleshooting methods they provided, it seems that the unit overheats, shuts down, and restarts after it cools down. The best guess is that the temperature of my incoming water is too high, and the water heater is not capable of heating a little. Being in Hawaii, my incoming water temperature is about 70 degrees. If you get your water as runoff from a glacier, you may find it works just fine.
- The water heater demands a fairly high rate of water flow to activate. This means that it does not activate to heat water when running our Whirlpool washing machine. To get hot water into the washer requires turning on a hot water tap and letting it run long enough for the water to heat, and keeping the tap on as long as the washer is filling. Likewise, the flow into our Bosch dishwasher is too low to activate the water heater. This means the internal (electric) water heater in the dishwasher works to bring the water to the necessary temperature, wasting electricity.
- It is slow to fire up. This means that, when handwashing dishes or the like, if you turn off the hot water you will get get cold water for a spell after the hot water sitting in the pipe has flowed out. As a result, you need to leave the hot water running continuously for such activities. I could understand a brief bit of cold water, but we are talking about 10 to 15 seconds of cold each time the hot water is turned off.
- The water heater uses approximately 5 watts of electricity continuously, more when the exhaust blower is operating. This amount of electric usage is ridiculous and goes far to offset the claimed efficiency.

My experiences with this and my Bosch dishwasher have completely disillusioned me on Bosch appliances and I will avoid them in the future.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!

Reviewer: Amy S. Woodall,
After purchasing an Aquastar 125LP unit, which was defective from the factory, we were "upgraded" to this unit at a discount rate because apparently Bosch discontinued the production of the Aquastar 125LP unit. After 2 months of use, the digital control panel went blank...so we called Bosch. They will not deal with homeowner's...only the people who installed the unit...this equals a service call for the gas company and the plumbing company just to tell Bosch the unit was installed correct. I am sure the unit was installed correct, because it worked great for two months. I asked them to send a Bosch representative so they could inspect the unit for themselves...they do not have service representatives in the field. At this point, we are cutting our losses and purchasing a water heater that is not made by Bosch.
